Certificate of Appreciation – Curtin University
Craig Power supervised two Curtin University OHS students in the completion of their individual workplace experience OHS projects during 2017.
The projects were done at the WA State Equestrian Centre located in Brigadoon and consisted of:
- Conducting and facilitating an overall Risk Assessment across the facility and grounds with controls to mitigate risks
- Developing a facility Safety Management Plan
- Drafting several OHS procedures and assisting in the development of a document control system.
The feedback from the students was very positive as they had indicated their practical experience was very limited and they learnt what safety professionals do in real life.
The feedback from the State Equestrian Centre management and staff was also very positive. They indicated the student projects provided real value in managing and mitigating risks for their field activities.
Craig Power – iSOL8 Managing Director, remains committed to developing our young OHS professionals and believes it is essential to our future that seasoned OHS professionals continue to share their experiences with students in our educational institutions.
